The Walkmen at Twist and Shout
colorado1 CommentZoo found out from a friendly barmaid to Paris that The Walkmen (one of my fav bands) was having a free'ish show at Twist and Shout records on Colfax here in Denver last night. Hell, yeah. They played for about 40 minutes and it was fucking awesome. Skyler Skjelset from Fleet Foxes was standing in for Peter Bauer, as his wife had just had a baby in NYC the day before. Great set full of stuff from the new album Heaven, plus many old fans.
Exploring Colorado's Rockies

Art: Night Paper
colorado, on the roadCommentI present the culmination of 3 years of dreaming, a nude model dressed in hand-cut paper with star trails shot on location at Barr Lake State Park. I intend this to be one in a series of images that culminates in a gallery show and perhaps coffee table book. Wish me luck and enjoy!
Testing for night shoot

Tashi Gomang Stupa
coloradoCommentI was fortunate to have a small adventure as a side trip on my way down the the Great sAnd Dunes National Park. I met a wonderful, friendly fellow traveler in a coffee shop who invited me to lunch in Crestone, CO. After lunch, we headed out past all of the religious retreats along the base of the mountain and up to the Tashi Gomang Stupa - a Tibetian Retreat that overlooks the stunning view of the valley valley below.
I'm an atheist and found this to be a fortunate place to find inspiration and gratitude. Worth a side trip if you are passing through. Take an SUV, 4-wheel drive or expect a good hike up there :)
